The IBC Heater for 640L IBC Containers with Single Heat Band is an efficient heating solution designed to warm liquids and reduce the viscosity of materials stored in Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Products such as syrup, sugar, fats, oils, resin and adhesives can become thick and difficult to discharge at room temperature, potentially resulting in increased handling times and product waste.

By applying controlled heat around the IBC, the heating jacket helps warm the contents and improve their flow characteristics, making them easier to pour, pump and discharge. This can help reduce product waste and improve the efficiency of handling viscous materials.

The heater features one adjustable thermostat with a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C, allowing the heating temperature to be set according to the requirements of the contents. The single heating zone provides a practical solution for applications where moderate heating or temperature maintenance is required.

Manufactured from durable and lightweight materials, the heating jacket combines Teflon-coated polyester, polyester insulation and silicone heating wire. Adjustable quick-release buckles make the heater easy to fit and remove from a standard 640L IBC, while the flexible construction provides close contact with the container for effective heat transfer.

The heating jacket is also suitable for maintaining the temperature of IBC contents during storage or transportation, particularly where a product needs to remain within a specific temperature range to maintain its required viscosity or flow characteristics.

For improved heating efficiency, an IBC insulated lid, available separately, can be fitted to the top of the container. The insulated lid helps reduce heat loss and can provide faster and more efficient heating.

The IBC heater is supplied as standard with IP40 protection. An IP54 version is also available for environments where exposure to water spray or increased moisture is a consideration, including certain food and pharmaceutical production areas with regular wash-down requirements.

Temperature Maintenance

The IBC heating jacket can be used to warm materials that have become viscous as well as to maintain a desired temperature during storage or transportation. This is particularly useful for products whose viscosity or flow characteristics change as they cool.

Container heating jackets can also be used alongside IBC heating cabinets or heating ovens, providing additional flexibility when individual containers need to be heated or kept warm during handling and transportation.

Faster Heating with an Insulated Lid

For improved heating performance, we recommend using the IBC Insulated Lid, available separately. Fitting an insulated lid to the top of the IBC helps reduce heat loss and can improve heating efficiency.

Reference Heating Performance

The manufacturer's stated heating times of approximately 48 hours are based on a 1000L container filled with water, starting at 15°C. Performance is approximately 15°C to 50°C using 2 x 1000W heaters with an insulation lid, or 15°C to 70°C using 3 x 1000W heaters with an insulation lid. These figures are provided as manufacturer reference data and do not represent the expected heating time for this 640L single-band model.

Actual heating times will vary depending on container size, contents, starting temperature, ambient conditions and insulation.
