The Ground Thawing Blanket 3000 x 1000mm is a heavy-duty electric heating blanket designed to thaw frozen ground, soil and pipes while providing reliable freeze protection for construction materials, pipelines and equipment. Built from durable, weatherproof materials, it is the ideal solution for construction sites, civil engineering projects, utilities, landscaping and agricultural applications where cold weather can cause costly delays.

The blanket delivers controlled heat directly downwards through its insulated upper surface, allowing frozen ground to thaw quickly and efficiently while minimising heat loss. Under normal ground conditions, it can thaw up to 300mm of frozen soil within 24 hours, or up to 600mm in sandy ground, helping excavation and construction work continue safely throughout the winter months.

In addition to ground thawing, the blanket is widely used as a concrete curing blanket, providing consistent heat to improve curing times and protect freshly laid concrete, brickwork, masonry walls, bridge decks, precast components and decorative concrete from frost damage.

Manufactured from robust waterproof PVC, the blanket is designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments and repeated daily use. An integrated 70°C bi-metal thermostat automatically regulates the operating temperature, while the IP67-rated construction offers excellent protection against dust and water ingress.

Simple to install, the blanket is supplied with either a 2 metre Schuko power lead or a 2 metre industrial connector. Simply roll out the blanket over the required area, connect the power supply and allow the blanket to safely thaw or protect the surface. Once the task is complete, it can be quickly rolled up for transport and storage.
