Description
Description
Viscous materials such as syrup, sugar, fats, waxes and resins can become difficult to discharge from a 1000 litre IBC when stored at room temperature. As these materials thicken, they can be harder to pour or pump, potentially resulting in product waste, longer handling times and increased costs.
This 1000L IBC heating jacket with dual heat bands provides an efficient solution by heating the contents of the container to help reduce viscosity and make materials easier to discharge. With two independently controlled digital thermostats, adjustable from 0–90°C, the heater provides fast, controlled and consistent heating for a wide range of industrial applications.
The two heat bands provide increased heating coverage around the IBC, making this model particularly suitable when faster heating or higher temperatures are required. The thermostats allow the temperature to be adjusted to suit the contents of the container, helping to maintain the desired viscosity during storage, handling or transportation.
Efficient Heating for 1000L IBC Containers
Heating an IBC before discharge can significantly improve the handling of materials that become thick or difficult to move at lower temperatures. By reducing viscosity, the contents can be poured or pumped more easily, helping to minimise product waste and improve efficiency.
The durable yet lightweight heater jacket is designed specifically for standard 1000L IBC containers. Adjustable quick-release buckles make the jacket simple to fit and remove, while the flexible construction allows it to conform closely to the container for efficient heat transfer.
The heater can be used with a wide variety of liquids and viscous materials, including:
- Water
- Oils and diesel fuel
- Resin
- Vaseline
- Wax, including lanolin
- Fats
- Butters, including ghee
- Glue and adhesives
- Syrups and other viscous industrial liquids
Ideal for Storage and Transportation
The IBC heating jacket can also be used where the contents need to be maintained at a specific temperature or viscosity during storage and transportation. Because the heating jacket is fitted directly to the IBC, it provides a practical alternative or supplement to larger container heating cabinets and heating ovens.
For faster and more efficient heating, we recommend using an IBC insulated lid (sold separately). The lid fits easily over the top of the container and helps retain heat, reducing heat loss during the heating process.
IP40 or Optional IP54 Protection
The IBC heater is supplied as standard with IP40 protection. Where the heater may be exposed to water spray or moisture, such as in food and pharmaceutical production environments with regular wash-down procedures, an IP54-protected version is also available. Heating Performance
As a guide, a 1000L container of water can take approximately 48 hours to heat from +15°C to +50°C using 2 x 1000W heaters and an insulated lid. And approximately 48 hours to heat from +15°C to +70°C when using 3 x 1000W heaters and an insulated lid.
Actual heating times will vary depending on the material being heated, ambient temperature, starting temperature and other operating conditions.
With its dual heat bands and 0–90°C temperature control, this 1000L IBC heater is an ideal solution for efficiently reducing viscosity, maintaining material temperature and making a wide range of industrial liquids easier to handle, pour and pump.
