Gas Cylinder Heaters

The Gas Cylinder Heater is designed to prevent cylinder frosting and maintain a consistent gas flow rate during laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, and calibration processes. By applying controlled heat to the cylinder, the heating jacket helps prevent pressure drops caused by rapid gas withdrawal, ensuring a stable and reliable gas supply for critical applications.

When compressed gases are stored in cylinders, they are often held in liquid form under pressure. As gas is drawn from the cylinder, rapid expansion can cause the cylinder surface to frost, reducing pressure and significantly affecting flow rates. Installing a gas cylinder heating jacket eliminates this problem by maintaining the cylinder temperature, allowing gas to vaporise more efficiently and providing a constant, uninterrupted flow.

Equipped with an easy-to-use digital thermostat adjustable from 0°C to 90°C, the heater offers precise temperature control for a wide range of gas applications. It is suitable for use with many industrial and laboratory gases, including SF₆ (Sulphur Hexafluoride), Propane, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Boron Trichloride (BCl₃), Tungsten Hexafluoride (WF₆), and Hydrogen Fluoride (HF).

Manufactured from durable silicone-impregnated fabric with fibreglass insulation and a Teflon heating wire, the lightweight heating jacket provides excellent thermal efficiency while remaining robust enough for demanding industrial environments. Adjustable quick-release buckles allow fast, secure fitting to gas cylinders, making installation and removal simple while also allowing the heater to remain fitted during transportation where appropriate.

Standard sizes are available for the commonly used Type K gas cylinder, while bespoke heating jackets can be manufactured to suit most gas cylinder sizes and specifications.
