Cushion wheels offer an alternative to spring-loaded castors and foam-filled tyres. Cushion tyred wheels are often used for the safe transportation of delicate instruments around industrial sites, particularly over uneven ground.

Gate castors are a specialist system designed to help take out the variation in ground heights and are mostly used on large gates travelling over uneven ground. The maximum height difference is 3 inches (7.62 centimetres), with a weight on the castor of no more than 70 kg.

Steel wheels offer a heavy-duty solution in a much smaller diameter than plastic or nylon based wheel and more frequent use in specialist applications.

Truck locks are an easy way to retrofit brakes to an existing trolley or mobile platform, or as an alternative to braked castors. The truck locks have a foot operated pad that lowers a pad normally with a rubber surface down to the floor, raising the wheels slightly above the ground and providing a friction brake.

Twin Wheeled Castors. To increase loading capacities whilst maintaining the same height, the twin wheel castors were developed. Depending on the wheel type and loading requirements, there are four ranges with capacities from 500 kg up to 11,500 kg.
